Stuck Carp?
This week the carp had stayed in one area of the lake and no matter the pressure in the water they decided to not move and caused a nuisance for most anglers.
First we have Joshua Richards. This was his first time here at Gigantica and ended up fishing in The Bund who had a good overall week managing to land a total of 10 fish with the biggest weighing 55lb called The Nose. This fish had came out a week before from Turtles Corner. Joshua had caught The Nose from 6 wraps towards Decoy fishing over fish and cream based boillies, maize and hemp. Joshua was using a spinner rig with a cream based dumbbell wafter.
Next up we have Jordy Raaijmakers in Decoy. Yet another first timer for Gigantica who had managed to land two 50’s through the week. Then biggest being called After work weighing 54lb. Jordy was fishing 18 wraps on his right margin fishing over 10mm and 15mm Mainline Cell, corn and maize topped off with Mainline Salmon oil. He had also managed to land a 50lb 5oz called The Jewel at yet again 18 wraps down his right margin. Jordy’s rig was a Blowback rig using Mainline Cell topped with yellow fake maize. Through the week he also went on to land some smaller residents here at Gigantica.
The first night in Billys was a busy one for JoshMercer as he managed to land a 50lb, 40lb, 30lb and a 20lb all caught from two rods fishing the same spot at 21 wraps towards the second set of rushes between Birches and the boat ramp. His mix contained flake maize, corn and a fish based boillie. Lets start with Diamond Geezer weighing 54lb. This was caught using a multi combi rig with a Cell wafter topped with yellow fake maize. He also went on to catch The Sergeant weighing 40lb 12oz using double pink slow sinking maize. As for the 30 plus, its a fish named The Chinky weighing 33lb 8oz caught on the multi combi rig again not long after putting it back on the money after the 50 plus. After the first night Josh’s alarms started to go quite apart from picking some more of the smaller ones off towards the end of the week.
Eventually, we now have Dave Deakin in TheBeach who is another first timer here at Gigantica which struggled for the first two nights until the fish pushed more into his water and got there heads down so he began to pick them off. Dave’s biggest of the week is a 42lb mirror that he managed to catch from 15b wraps to the lifeboi fishing over fish based boillie, maize and hemp. For his rig he was using a size 4 spinner hook with 25lb boom on a spinner rig while using a fish based wafter for his hook bait. Dave had managed to land a few more through the week being smaller than his 42lb however, he was just happy to have hit into the fish.
