Week Commencing: Sat 01/06/2024

Minds are elsewhere!

New week, new month! Kickstarting the month of June with some days of warm weather, and about time to!

It was a hard week but the hot rays, being smothered by mosquitoes, and the fish showing signs of spawning, this didn’t dampen the anglers’ spirits!

Robert Hancock came out with the biggest catch of the week!! Tea Party 2 came with some ups and downs, catching a few small fish and losing one, but his hard work paid off when he landed Maggie at 50lb 8oz. Using a spinner rig at 25 wraps towards the far margin, fishing with a mix of house maize, pellet and boilie. One happy angler!

Tony Borruto was kept busy resulting in being top rod of the week! Landing 11 fish in total up until the fish chose Bachilliers as their spawning patch towards the end of the week! Fishing at 25 wraps with a multi rig snowman style – Atlantic heat on the bottom and Atlantic heat yellow topper.

This defiantly worked in his favour as he landed Quaver at 48lb 9oz. Then a day or so later hit Darky at 47lb 8oz! A big well done Tony!

Kev Hicks in Decoy started off the week with the first fish, 38lb common, Mammut. His tactic in catching this beaut of a fish was a multi rig with cre-amino wafter and half a yellow sent from hell topper. Aiming at 16 wraps on the right-hand side he came through! Great start to the week!

The rest of the week was fairly quiet on the fishing side of things. A couple of changes of swims for some and with the fish spawning becoming more prominent, the week came to an end. Until…..

Just as everyone was packed up and ready for their morning pan au chocolates before the dreaded drive home,Michael Loydall held his rods in at Goo until the bitter end resulting in his new PB! Ringo at 41lb 4oz. Fishing at 17 wraps on a PVA bag and x2 white fake corn he finally did it. Then in came a 2nd one! 40lb 12oz Inventor Phil. Hard work really does pay off!

Although the anglers had a fight with mosquitoes and spawning fish with their minds elsewhere, they pulled together a 50lber and a new PB!

Great week with great anglers.

Until next time

Tight lines
