Week Commencing: Sat 15/04/2023

Beach gets off to a flyer.!!!!

A steady week with the fish looking like they were holding up in numbers in a couple of different areas with just the odd few fish being picked off else where.

With the fish showing down one end and going off the previous catch report the draw didn’t take long, ball 1 going to Paul.

He soon headed to Beach and started to set about putting some bait on the 21 wrap spot and was rewarded with a 15lb mirror Sunday morning. Continuing to bait up paid him nicely, this time Sunday evening with a mega fish known as After Work that sent the scales around to a new top weight and new P.B for Paul at 52lb 10oz.He continued his tactics through the week and ended the week with 9 fish!

Lee in Decoy was next up having a very slow start to the week catching his first fish Tuesday but then soon Started baiting fairly heavy and often with our house mix of hemp and maize was the key for him landing 11 fish up to 34lb 4oz. Slow start but managed to get involved in the action at 16 wraps to his right. Spinner rigs with 12mm yellow isotonic.

Turtles corner was next and homed regular visitor Ian Ockwell for the week. After doing a week on main lake Ian jumped onto road lake for the week and came out 4th in the draw and was happy to get turtles corner getting straight into action on the Sunday morning landing Midiot at 30lb 10oz swiftly followed by Splashat new top weight of 40lb 4oz.It then went quite for a couple of days before the fish got back on his regularly baited spot at 21 wraps and sending out a 7” dark matter hook link, size 4 wide gape complemented with a 18mm royal marine and 2 bait stringer. The rest of the week was steady for Ian landing 8 fish including OG also at a new top weight of 41lb 4oz.

Along the bank from him in shingles was regular Geffrey Wong that also joined Ian on a 2 week stint, main lake then moved on to road lake for the second week. Tough week for Geffrey but he was rewarded by consistent baiting and fishing bags over the top at 16 wraps he managed to land a stunning scaley one at 28lb which he got the pleasure to name Queen Fully. Later in the week he was very happily greeted by a new p.b by the name of Polly at a new top weight of 48.10oz.

It was also slow going in Tea party 1 with Greggmanaging 2 fish a 23lb common and the rewards from baiting little but often and fishing a size 4 slip D rig and a yellow sent from hell wafter was key to a new p.b The Archer at 49lb 12oz.

Tea party 2 hosted Lewis for the week managing 3 fish up to 31lb 4oz using size 4 Spinner’s and a 12mm isotonic pop up’s at 21 wraps. Unfortunately Lewis wasn’t graced with the larger fish this time but sure it will happen for him in the future.

A very slow and steady week but always great to see so many P.Bs broken week after week.

Until next time

Tight lines
