The King Shows His Face Again!

New guest Jacob O’Connor made his way to Birches after the draw and I don’t think he was expecting the session he was about to have! Jacob’s first 48 hours was very slow but kicked off his session with a 15lb mirror. Then another two nights went past fishless. Jacob made a few changes to his solid bags and it wasn’t long before the “Korda Social Common” rolled in the net at 51lb 12oz. Then that very same night the king of the pond “Ron’s” payed him a visit at 63lb 12oz. Jacob knew he now had his tactics down to a fine art and manged to land some of the other beasts like “After Work” at 51lb 8oz, “Darky” at 46lb. On the final morning just as the holiday blues started to kick in the rod was away one more time, this time a big sort after common “The Jackal” at a new top weight 59lb. What a session! Jacob was catching his fish off two spots one rod at 12.5 wraps and two rods at 17.5 wraps. Fishing solid bags over maize and boilie done the trick!

Callum Coe managed to pull out ball no1 out the bag and made no hesitation to mark his name on the board in The Beach. Callum didn’t hang about starting to catch them with his first fish out the pond being “The Wedge” at 53lb 4oz. This was the only bigun for Callum but he did go on to catch a few more doubles and twenty’s, Callum ended his week on 11 fish. Callum was fishing 21 wraps towards the bund with standard hair rigs over the top feeding boilie only.

Another new guest Richard Grayling, after reading the catch reports from previous weeks he was very happy to land in double boards knowing this peg picks up not many fish but the bigger fish he opted to fish whole boilie with a bit of corn. And in true double boards form within no time Richard had JP’s in the net at 53lb. Rich went on to catch 2 other mid 20s for his efforts but he got what he came for. Richard was fishing 7 wraps down his left hand margin and the standard big fish spot at 11.5 wraps towards the goo. Fishing spinners over the top.

Gregg Ballie managed to stay on for another week and with his knowledge from last week he wanted to land in the beach or decoy and to his surprise he managed to land in Decoy. And on the Sunday mid day his rod was away with a 18lber not long after he had “Le Flair” in his net at 48lb 4oz. He went on to catch 14 fish in the end with some other nice ones In the mix. Greg was fishing down his right hand margin at 16 wraps and 18 wraps towards cage. Fishing with plenty of maize and solid bags over the top.

Part of the furniture Andy Lewis was back, this time in Tea Party 1. And with it still fishing hard in true Andy form he still managed to put a few on the bank such as “Twin Patch” at 44lb 8oz, “Twinny” at 36lb.13oz and “The Submarine” at 39lb 9oz. Andy was fishing his standard go to almond pop ups on spinners over boilie and maize fishing 19 wraps towards turtles corner.

Tom Baxter spent all week struggling in Brambles and sticking to his guns sadly didn’t pay of but he never gave up so he decided to do a few hours round in turtles. With plenty of fish showing he decide to go for the solid bag approach, chucking at showing fish and within no time he was in to a fish known as “The Clutch” at 36lb 5oz and a P.B to boot!

That’s all for this week another very quiet week on the road but still some big ones made a appearance. Its all about never giving up because it will pay off in the end. Fingers crossed they turn on soon.
