Week Commencing: Sat 25/07/2020
This week we had a Road lake exclusive booking with the guys and girls from The Boilie Service Belgium on their annual trip to Gigantica. With the weather staying dry all week and a high pressure of 1025 for most of the week it wasn’t going to be ideal fishing conditions and to top it off we were expecting the temperatures to hit 40c by mid-week. With the high temperatures in the day and cooling off at night the guys made the most of it baiting up ready for the evening action when the carp switched on to feed.
Kenny Nijs fishing in Decoy was off the mark early on with one in the net before dinner on the first day not a one of the big girls but a real confidence boost that the rigs were working and he was in the right spot fishing two rods down to the right at 16 wraps towards the bund and one out at 18 to the gravel bar he baited the two rods in front of the bund by hand with 4-6kg of bait just before breakfast each morning and repeted this just before dinner using The Boilie Service Red Tuna 20mm and maize he fished over the top of this with a 20mm wafter tipped with pop-up maize. Kenny managed to keep the fish feeding on the spots throughout the week and ended up with a total of 20 fish for the week the biggest was Mia at 40lb on the nose.
Jordy Fochon dropped into the Beach and with the numbers of fish caught the previous week he was definitely going to be getting amongst them. Jordy followed on with the same tactics as the previous angler fishing all three rods towards the bund staggering them back from the left corner at 23 wraps back to 21 wraps he baited by hand from the bund with a mix of boilie and maize he fished over the top of this with a banana wafter on a D-Rig. Jordy managed 15 fish for the week including a forty with Jam Boy at 46lb and a new Pb with The Korda social common at 50lb on the nose and with the 40c heat he welcomed the PB soaking...
Next up was Rafael Godaux fishing Turtles Corner Raf fished well and managed to get amongst them early on with the fish in the area from the off he baited a spot at 21 wraps with a spread of boilies and Maize he started off fishing all three rods over this spot and picked up a couple of the smaller residents on the first night he kept the bait going in and worked the swim pulling the bigger fish in landing him 15 fish during the session including Mysterio at 46lb and The Unnamed Common just shy of the 50lb mark at 49lb…..
The fishing hasn’t been easy this week with the temperatures reaching high into the 30s but the guys kept plugging away at it and they got the results ……
Until next time tight lines…..
