Week Commencing: Sat 18/08/2018

What a week here on the Road lake with a total of 89 carp being landed, thirteen of those carp were over 40lb, and there were Loads of PB broken to this week. “Great angling lads”. We had westerly winds for most of the week, and the temperature up in to the 30’s for most of the week but it didn’t stop these lads from catching.

First up was Martin Marsh who was fishing in The beach, he decided to fish all three rods in a line at 18 wraps, Martin baited the area with 4kg of CC Moore live System boilies, he was using the IQ D rig with a CC Moore live system wafter as his hook bait. Over the course of the week Martin landed 23 fish which included 6 x 30’s to 36lb, 3 x 40’s to 45lb and the rest were made up in doubles and twenty’s. Martins biggest fish was the “Jewel” at 45lb. Over the week martin used 30 kilos of boilies.

Joe Morgan went into The Decoy, he was fishing one rod at 21 wraps straight out and the other two rods were cast up to the bund at 14 wraps, he was spodding out 2kg of boilies twice a day and after every fish he would top the area up with half a dozen spombs just to keep the fish in the area. Joe went onto to land 13 carp, 2 x doubles 4 x 20’s 5 x 30’s to 38lb and 2 x 40’s. He was using CC Moores Equinox Boilies, Joe was using a standard Blow back rig with a CC Moore Equinox wafter as his hook bait.

Roger Williams decided to go into Tea Party One he was fishing all three rods in a line at 18 wraps towards Turtles corner, Roger baited the area with 8kg of Mainline Baits Link boilies, and using the Ronnie rig with a Mainline link pop up as his hook bait. Over the course of the week he landed a total of twelve carp, 3 doubles 5 x 20’s 3 x 30’s to 37lb 2 x 40’s to 43lb and a cracking 50lb mirror called “Big Pec’s”.

Chalky White went into Dunkerque, he was fishing all three rods at 14 wraps in-line with Tea Party two, Martin started of baiting the area with 4kg of

CC Moores Live System, over the course of the week he used 30kg of boilies, Chalky was using was the spinner rig with a pop up as his hook bait this landed him 9 x carp to 33lb8oz.

Lee Williams started in Bacheliers after no signs of any fish he moved into

The Goo, he found a nice area to fish all three rods in a line at 8 wraps, it wasn’t long before he was into his first fish of the session a 19lb mirror, not long after that he goes and lands a cracking 40lb common, Lee went onto have a total of 7 carp for the week. Lee was using Mainline Baits Link Boilies and he was baiting up the area with 3 kilos of boilies twice a day and after every fish, this was done with his spomb and his throwing stick, Lee was using a simple combi rig with a link wafter as his hook bait.

Mike Cole went into The Poo he had three rods in a line in-between Shingles and TurtlesCorner at 10 wrap making it nice and easy to catapult his baits out, he was baiting up twice a day and after every fish with Mainline Baits Link Boilies. An IQ D rig with a Mainline link boilie topped with a piece of yellow plastic corn as his hook bait. Over the course of the week Mike had a total of 6 carp to 41lb which was a cracking Common called “Twin Patch”.

Well that’s it for another week here on the Road lake, we had a great bunch of lads this week, they were all first timers but they all caught fish so they all went home happy, all of them said they will be coming back next year for another crack at it.
