Week Commencing: Sat 29/07/2017
Another cracking week on the Gigantica Road lake, over 70 carp were landed by the end of the week. The day time temperature was up to 32 degrees most days, creating a real summer holiday feel to the week and the evening temperature dropped to a more comfortable 14 degrees. The wind was blowing from the west for most of the week making it perfect condition for fishing, the lake temperature was 24 Degrees.
Martijn Markwat decided to go into Turtles Corner, his right hand rod was cast at 6 wrap inline with Tea Party 1, the left hand rod was at 15 wrap towards the left hand margin, and his middle rod was cast at 18 wraps inline with the island, it wasn’t long before he was into his first fish of the week a cracking 36lb mirror. Martijn was using an IQ D rig with a size 4 korda Kurv hook with two grains of plastic corn as his hook bait. He was baiting each rod up every day with 2kg of Boilies and 2kg of Hemp and Maze. Over the course of the week he landed 14 carp.
Aaron Reid went into Tea party 1 he had a total of 7 carp for the week, a 39lb8oz mirror 3 x 20’s, and 3 doubles they all come on IQ D rig with a size 4 Korda Kurv hook with a Cell wafter as his hook bait. His first rod was cast at 10 wrap in- line with the corner of Single Boards. The other two rods were cast to the right of the swim inline of Turtles Corner at 20 wraps, Aaron was baiting up with his throwing stick, over the week he used 20kg of boilies. After every fish he would put out another 100 boilies just to keep the carp feeding in his area.
Martin Pettit went into Tea Part 2, over the course of the week he had a total of 19 carp, a cracking 40lb3oz mirror 5 x 30’s to 35lb4oz, 8 x 20s to 28lb, and 5 x doubles. Martin was casting 2 rods over to the Far margin just left of the island, and his third rod was cast at 16 wraps inline with Billys, all of his carp come on the IQ D rig with a Cell wafter as his hook bait, over the week he used 20 kg of boilies.
Adam Layzell went into Bachelier’s, it wasn’t long before he was into his first carp of the session, a nice 33lb3oz Common. This came from the left had margin at 12 wraps where he baited the area with a couple kilos of Tails Up Pro Seed Boilies. Straight after that he then landed a 24lb 8oz Mirror. Aaron was using the IQ D-Rig with a Wafter as his hook bait. He went on to have another 3 x 20s and a 31lb Mirror. During the week he used 20kg of boilies.
Ryan Layzell went into the Poo he was fishing all three rods at 15 wraps, his fist carp came on Monday morning a nice 43lb10oz mirror called Chuzzlewit, straight after that he had a 31lb2oz mirror, Ryan was using the IQ D rig with a wafter which had been soaked in the New Butter Corn Goo. Ryan went on to have another 2 x 30’s to 35lb and 3 x 20’s to 27lb. Over the week Ryan used 35kg of Tail’s up Pro Fish Boilies.
Ben Rogers decided to go into Billys, he was fishing two rods along the tree line and the other rod was in-line with Birches at 16 wraps. Over the course of the week Ben had 4 x doubles,6 x 20’s to 25lb and two cracking 30lb mirror’s, a simple Blow Back Rig with an Atlantic Heat Boilie with a sent from hell pop up as his hook bait.
Raymond Van Ee went into Double Boards over the course of the week he had 10 doubles 3 x 20’s to 27lb and a 32lb mirror and a cracking 36lb mirror. Raymond was using the Ronnie Rig with a pop up as his hook bait, over the course of the week he used a total of 20kg boilies and 20kg of Pellet.
Tony Jones went into Single Boards for the last 48 hours because the fish were showing close in, he spread 3 rods out at 8 wraps and stuck a kilo out over all 3 rods, then roughly an hour in tony caught a 22lb mirror, he then stuck another half a kilo over the top using his catapult, then an hour later he had another take and caught a 34lb mirror followed by a 40lb common.Tony was using the IQ D rig with a wafter as his hook bait.
Please remember that we only allow the pellets that we supply to be used at the lake, these cost 60 € for a 25kg sack and can be reserved by calling us in advance of your trip ready for your arrival. 10kg bags of frozen boilies from Mainline can also be reserved and purchased onsite, again you can call to reserve these too. We have an onsite tackle shop as well stocking a selection of tackle from Korda that can be purchased during your stay should you need anything whilst at Gigantica.
Lunches are also available to be delivered to your swim each day, these cost 4 € a day and consist of a baguette with a choice of fillings. Please see the bailiff onsite to arrange this. All food, tackle and bait onsite must be paid for in euros and cash only at the lake.
