Week Commencing: Sat 08/07/2017

The weather this week on the Road Lake has been a real mixed bag with temperature’s up in the high twenty’s in the early part of the week leading to rain and thunder storm’s to the end of the week dropping the air pressure to below 1000 perfect conditions for a fish or two.

With 6 anglers on the lake and plenty of activity on the walk around it was important to spread out and keep the fish on the move.

Week commencing 08/07/2017

First up was Roy Addy fishing The Poo Roy went for the big baiting up approach with large beds of mixed hemp, maze and pellet topped up with Mainline Activ8 boilie. His first rod was fished at 12 wraps towards Double Boards the second 16 wraps towards Shingles and his final rod 7 wraps towards Turtles. Roy fished all three rods on the IQ-D rig with Activ8 18mm hook baits. Roy’s first fish came on Thursday with a 22lb mirror he then went on to top that with three more fish in 12h headed up with 2x upper twenty’s and a lovely 31.12oz mirror. Friday morning could not of started any better with a 32lb mirror in the net only to be followed by a 43lb mirror two upper doubles and a mid twenty in the net by late evening. Roy finished his week in style with a 29.8lb common and a 32lb mirror on Saturday morning. Roy’s total for the week was 1x 40 3x 30 5x20 and 2x doubles with big beds of bait paying off for Roy it looks like the fish are hungry and actively looking for bait.

Next up was Adam Scott fishing Tea Party 1 Adam waited till Monday evening for his first fish then he was in on the action with style landing three carp in an hour with the biggest of the week so far at 46lb Adam was fishing all three rods at 15 wraps towards turtles corner and shingles using a dark matter kd rig and mainlines new fishmeal bait along with large beds of maze and hemp all of witch are available on site. Adam went on to catch 18 fish in total including 3x 40’s 2x 30’s 4x 20’s 9x doubles.

Next is Adam Russell fishing Turtles Corner Adam was on the work party this week and was only fishing the nights and managed two fish for the week at 25.4lb and 18lb Adam fished two rods at 20 wraps towards the island on the Ronnie rig tipped with a Mainline Fyber wafter over a large bed of mixed hemp, maize and Fyber boilies and the third rod was fished on a 13ft zig landing him the 25lb carp.

Last up was Chris Grimmer fishing The Beach also on the work party managed to winkle one out at 19.08lb Chris was using the new Mainline fishmeal bait fished at 23 wraps towards the dam wall on an IQ-D rig over a bed of mixed maze and hemp.

Mark Pearce fishing Dunkerque also on the main lake work party fished all three rods at 14 wraps over a bed of hemp, maze and Mainlines fish meal boilies on the IQ-D rig and managed to land himself an impressive 34.08 mirror

With a good week had by all things are starting really warm up on the road lake and with the lake full over the coming weeks it can only get better.
