Another great week on the Road Lake at Gigantica this week, we had the boys from Essex who visited this time last year again. The temperatures were up this week around 32 degrees, creating a real summer holiday feel to the week. Evening temperatures dropped to a more comfortable 18 degrees.
Staying on for an extra week was our Dutch friend Martijn Markwat. Fishing in Turtles Corner this week and using the famous IQ D rigs with Cell wafters. Martijn was fishing 15 wraps towards Tea Party 1 and 19 wraps towards the left hand margin. Baiting up with a few handfuls of boilies, five or six times per day, he landed 12 awesome fish including 12 thirties with the largest being a 38lb mirror on Tuesday morning.
Matthew Harrison was in the Brambles swim fishing out to 17 wraps on all three rods. Using double bottom hookbaits over boilie and pellet Matthew landed some awesome fish including his largest being a 38lb common.
Scott Palmer, aka The Guns, moved all over the lake this week yo-yoing between Billies, The Poo, Bachillers and Tea Party 2. Scott was baiting up with 3kg of boilie and Pellet when he moved and was also using zig rigs. His largest fish of the week was a 44lb mirror on the Tuesday morning.
Graham Beers chose to fish in the New Beach this week, casting nine wraps towards The Decoy swim and 18 wraps straight out in front baiting up with 5kg of boilies and pellets mixed together per day. Graham landed five fish with his largest being a 35lb mirror on Wednesday morning.
Adam Kitchen was in Dunkerque this week fishing 20 wraps towards the island. Adam used 25kg of boilie for the week, resulting in him landing a total of five fish, including a 38lb mirror on Saturday morning just as he was packing up.
Lee Rogers was fishing in Tea Party 1 this week and he was using a variety of tactics. Baiting up on the bottom with boilie at 20 wraps straight out in front and fishing with zig rigs cast at showing fish, Lee landed a total of 11 fish including a new PB mirror weighing in at 40lb.
And finally Chris Thorn aka the Bumble Bee was fishing in The Birches. Casting towards the 20 wrap bar and fishing over 20kg of boilie, Bumble bee landed five fish including three thirties to 38lb.
Please remember that we only allow the pellets that we supply to be used at the lake, these cost 60 € for a 25kg sack and can be reserved by calling us in advance of your trip ready for your arrival. 10kg bags of frozen boilies from Mainline can also be reserved and purchased onsite, again you can call to reserve these too. We have an onsite tackle shop as well stocking a selection of tackle from Korda that can be purchased during your stay should you need anything whilst at Gigantica.
Lunches are also available to be delivered to your swim each day, these cost 4 € a day and consist of a baguette with a choice of fillings and also come supplied with a drink. Please see the bailiff onsite to arrange this. All food, tackle and bait onsite must be paid for in euros and cash only at the lake.
