Week Commencing: Sat 24/10/2015
Well that’s it another year done on the Road Lake and what a year it has been we’ve had lots of PBs broken with some new 40s and 50s coming through, so what will next year hold? There will defiantly be a 60lb fish on the bank next year that’s for sure.
The weather has been very mild this week with the temp getting up to 17 degrees throughout the day and nights down to 4 degrees with hardly any wind at all. The lake temp has been falling every week its now down to 8 degrees. Winter is certainly coming.
Down to this week and we had 12 lads from Denmark with none of them ever fishing on the Road Lake previously so this week was going to be a learning curve for them all. As we was walking round, like we do every week just to give the anglers an idea of the lake and an idea where to fish, there was a little bit of a language barrier but luckily I had Ben who was here from last week who translated for me, whom I would just like to thank for his help with that.
Kenneth Oppermann was set up in turtles he was fishing along the tree line with one rod and the other two were fished at 20rl towards T1. Through out the week he used 15kg of boilies which he baited up with his spod and throwing stick along with a simple IQ D rig with a size 4 Kurv hook done the job for Kenneth who had some very nice carp to 31lb.
Nicklas Asmussen was set up in shingles and he was fishing two roads at 15rl and the other one was cast down the left hand margin, through out the week he used 10kg of boilies the best carp he had was a nice 30lb mirror.
Per Hansen was set up in singles he was fishing one rod to his right hand margin and the other two rods were fish straight out at 15 rl. He used 10kg of boilies through the week and he was baiting up with his throwing stick. Per managed a nice 34lb mirror and a couple of doubles all on a simple D rig set up done the job for Per.
Mikkel Thomasen was in Decoy he was fishing at 30rl towards the big round tree on the far bank where he had some cracking carp to 37lb and he was baiting after every fish with N-Blend from DT baits and using a R8 pop up on a hinge stiff rig 2 cm above the bottom and also IQ D rigs with a DT N-Blend wafter was mikkel chosen rigs for the week.
Jan Holm was set up in Dunkerque and he was fishing two rods straight out at 10rl and the other rod was at 5rl to his left. Jan spent some of his time fishing in The Wall and Slags area of the lake. He used 20kg of boilies through out the week the KD rig was Jan’s chosen rig for the week which he had some nice carp on.
Simon Macchhoo was set up next to him in the Cage he was also fishing at 10rl straight out with all three rods, he used 20kg of boilie through out the week his biggest carp was a nice 34lb mirror. Simon also fished some day time sessions in The Wall area.
Thomas Phil was set up in T1 he was fishing down the left hand margin were he had a 17lb mirror, he was baiting up every day with 1kg of boilies the IQ D rig with a wafter was his chosen rig.
I would just like to say a big thanks to all the customers we had out on the Road Lake this year and hope to see you all here next year. From all the staff at Gigantica we hope you have a great end to 2015 and look forward to see what 2016 brings on this lake.
