Week Commencing: Sat 26/07/2014

With a new week about to start on the Road Lake and temperatures into the low 30’s the lake got off to a flyer, with over 20 bites in the first 24 hours.  The Road Lake carp defiantly love a little sun.

Top Rod for the week was Neil in Brambles with over 40 fish for the week.  This included 14 fish in the first 24 hours, how crazy.  The best a stunning fish which goes by the name of The Wright Fish at 44lb.  In total Neil had 15 fish over 30lb.  What a week.  Fishing all three rods at 20 wraps or 80 yards in old money.  Spombing 2kg of a mixture of chopped and whole Hybrid boilies seemed to be a winner for Neil.  Rig wise IQ D rigs and a Banoffee or Hybrid wafter being the winning method for him.

Next to Neil fishing in Decoy we had Conner who managed 17 fish for the week, with the best a 38lb common.  All of Conner’s fish came out in open water towards the mouth of the bay at 19.5 wraps.  Baiting with a mixture of Hybrid boilies and pellets, and used a total of 30kg for the week, again all his fish coming to the D rig and Hybrid wafter set up.

Fishing over in Billy’s this week we had John.  John's catch for the week included a PB of 37lb 8oz, a chunky Mirror.  As well as a 35lb mirror and a 34lb common.  John’s fish came at 21 wraps into open water where he baited with 30kg of Hybrid for the week using a throwing stick.  Again like many, blow back rigs and Hybrid wafters doing the business.

Next up in The Cage and then moving into Dunkerque we had Alan.  Alan had a total of seven fish for the week, the best a common of just over 30lbs.  Alan’s fish came at various ranges, anything from 9 to 18 wraps and baiting up with a mixture of Hybrid and Cell boilies using a throwing stick or a spomb.

In TP2 this week we had Glayn.  For the week Glayn had a total of nine fish, the best at just over 30lb.  Fishing at 11 and 15 wraps Glayn baited with a mixture of Hybrid boilies and pellets throughout the week.

Well as another week passes, and another week with plenty of carp caught.  Remember don’t be shy with the bait, on the Road Lake they’ll eat all you put in front if them.

Be lucky
